How to deactivate iSpring products

PRODUCTS:   Converter Pro,   River,   Presenter,   Suite,   Pro

When you are planning to change a computer that already has iSpring software installed or you are just going to update your Windows system, the question arises: How do I transfer my iSpring license? The answer is easy: deactivate your license so it may be used for a future installation.

Let’s see how activation works. Each license for every iSpring product has a license name, license key and number of activations. Activation is done automatically via the Internet when you install an iSpring authoring tool and enter the licence key. Deactivation follows the same rules as activation.

There are two ways you can deactivate your license:

  • Automatic deactivation via the Internet. Uninstall the product and choose the deactivation option.
  • Manual deactivation via email. If you don’t have access to the installed copy (e.g. hardware/system damage), ask our support team to reset the activation for you.

Automatic deactivation

Method 1

The most practical way to deactivate the license is to uninstall the iSpring program from your computer. Use the Uninstall a program Windows tool in order to do that. The setup will ask you if you would like to deactivate the license. Choose Deactivate License.

Method 2

Also you can use the iSpring activation utility supplied with the iSpring installation package. In this case the program will not be uninstalled from your system but simply deactivated instead. Follow these steps:

  1. Close PowerPoint.
  2. Open the iSpring folder in your Program Files folder on your system disk.
  3. If you have several iSpring programs installed, you will see different folders per product e.g. Suite 7, Presenter 6. Open the folder of the product you want to deactivate.
  4. Run the file Activation.exe and you will see the iSpring Activation Wizard.
Note: in previous versions (6 and earlier) this utility was called Deactivation.exe
  5. Choose Deactivate the license, and once your license is deactivated, you will see a message indicating successful deactivation and displaying the number of activations left.

Manual deactivation

This way will require the assistance of iSpring’s support staff, so make sure you’ve tried automatic deactivation first before you proceed.

Manual deactivation can be done if you have lost your computer or cannot access it because of hardware or software damage (e.g., short circuit during a lightning storm or a computer virus). Please use the contact support form on ispringsolutions.com, specify the product name, your license key, and the reason why you have lost access to the system.

Manual activation cannot be done in the following cases:

  • The computer doesn’t have stable access to the Internet.
Solution: Make sure that access to the Internet is established and no firewalls or anti-viruses are blocking ispringsolutions.com hosts from performing automatic activation via Internet.
  • You have uninstalled the iSpring program without using the option Deactivate the license.
Solution: Activation information is saved on your computer, so install the same iSpring program again (e.g. Suite 7). Then uninstall it and choose Deactivate the license.

You can check the number of activations left on your specific license at ispringsolutions.com after you log in to your account. Make sure you enter the same email that was used for purchasing the license.
